Our education plan includes a simple to use 8.5 x 11 map sheet that can be used digitally or printed off for students. This map can be used as a geography lesson, or to enhance student’s spatial awareness of the battlefield.
The Project ’44 map sheet covers the five Allied amphibious assaults at Utah, Omaha, Sword, Juno and Gold beaches. Students will be able to understand where the Canadians landed on the 6th of June 1944.
Students understand THE Normandy campaign’s plan and objectives, and using the War Diaries give explanations to the significance of the campaign and Canada’s role within it.
Included with the Project ’44 map sheet is an answer key to describe the key geographical features and concepts. This covers the amphibious beaches, major cities, province and water body included on the map sheet.
